After the announcement of the publication of the higher secondary results, advertisement is given in the regional newspaper regarding
i) courses offered in the regular and the unaided streams,
ii) fee for application,

iii) availability of hostel and transport facilities,
iv) last date for submission of application.
Application forms are issued immediately after the publication of higher secondary results. The prospectus contains details regarding fee structure, rules and regulations and library facilities. Applications are issued free of cost for SC and ST students.

A registration card, consisting of information regarding the date on which the merit list would be displayed, is issued to the candidates. The merit list is prepared strictly according to government norms and conditions. For Branch XII - Tamil and English Literature cut off marks are calculated, taking into account, the marks scored in Part I and Part II. As far as Science subjects are concerned, the marks scored in the major paper is calculated for 100 and 50 each for allied papers, respectively and the aggregate would be calculated for 200 marks. The admission committee comprises the Principal, two senior members of staff, a faculty representing SC/ST and the office Superintendent. After due scrutiny, the merit list is displayed on the notice board. Communication is sent to the provisionally selected candidates who are expected to present themselves along with their parents to appear for an interview with the Principal. The following original certificates are to be produced.

  • The Tamilnadu Higher Secondary Course (or its equivalent) Grade Certificate in original or a Provisional Certificate.
  • Transfer and Conduct certificates in original.
  • Candidates who have passed an examination other than the Tamilnadu Higher Secondary should produce eligibility certificate from the Manonamaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.
  • Three passport size photographs 2x5 cms
  • Community Certificate in original and two Photo copies attested by a Gazetted Officer.
  • Candidates appearing for interview should be prepared to pay fees within a specified time, if they are selected in the interview.
