DESCRIPTION:* தூத்துக்குடி மகளிர் கல்லூரியில் 50-வது ஆண்டு பொன்விழாவில் ஒன்று கூடிய பழைய மாணவிகள் – பழைய நினைவுகளை பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட பெண் அமைச்சர் !!! *\n  \n  \nதூத்துக்குடி எட்டையாபுரம் சாலையில் அமைந்துள்ள ஏபிசி மகாலட்சுமி மகளிர் கல்லூரி கடந்த 1973ம் ஆண்டு துவங்கப்பட்டது. கல்லூரியில் நடைபெற்ற பொன்விழா கொண்டாட்டத்தில் கல்லூரியின் முன்னாள் முதல்வர்கள்\, பேராசிரியர்கள்\, மாணவர்கள்\, கல்லூரி ஊழியர்கள் ஆகியோர் சந்திப்பு நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு கல்லூரி தாளாளர் ஏபிசிவீ சொக்கலிங்கம் தலைமை வகித்தார். கல்லூரி செயலாளர் சுப்புலட்சுமி வரவேற்புரையாற்றினார். \nஇந்த கல்லூரியில் பயின்ற வடக்கு மாவாட்ட திமுக செயலாளரும் சமூகநலன் மற்றும் மகளிர் உரிமைத்துறை அமைச்சர் கீதாஜீவன் சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராகப் பங்கேற்று\, கல்லூரியில் பயின்ற மறக்க முடியாத நினைவுகளை பகிர்ந்து கொண்டு பேசுகையில்\, ஏ.பி.சி. மகாலட்சுமி மகளிர் கல்லுரியின் 50-வது பொன்விழா கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இந்த நாளை கல்லூரி நிர்வாகம் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தார்கள். இதில் 1973-ல் படித்த மாணவிகள் முதல் கடந்த முறை பயின்ற மாணவிகள் வரை வந்துள்ளீர்கள்.  ஏபிசி வீரபாகு மிகச் சிரமங்களுக்கு இடையில் இந்த கல்லூரியை தொடங்கி தற்போது வளர்ச்சி பெற்ற கல்லூரியாக அரசு அதிகாரிகள்\, மற்றும் உயர் பதவிகள் ஆன்றோர்கள்\, சான்றோர்களை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. தூத்துக்குடி மண்ணைச் சார்ந்த மகாகவி பாரதியாரின் கனவை நனவாக்கும் எண்ணமாக இந்த கல்லூரி தொடங்கப்பட்டது. தற்போது அந்த கனவு மெய்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது.நான் 12ம் வகுப்பு வரை தமிழ்வழி கல்வி தான் படித்தேன். இங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்த பின்பு எப்படி படிக்க போகிறோம் என்று ஒருவாரமாக பல்வேறு சிந்தனைகள் இருந்தது உண்டு. பல ஆசிரியர்கள் எங்களை கண்டிப்புடன் வழி நடத்தினார்கள். ஆடை அலங்காரம் தேவைதான் ஆனால் அதற்கு அடிமையாகிவிடக் கூடாது. இந்த பெண்கள் கல்லூரியில் படிக்கும் காலத்தில் தொழில் செய்ய வேண்டும். அல்லது தொழிலதிபராக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் இருந்த எனக்கு இன்று அரசியலில் பணியாற்றி வருகிறேன். இந்த மகளிர் கல்லூரியில் படித்ததால் தான் நான் இன்று சமூகநலன் மற்றும் மகளிர் உரிமைத்துறை அமைச்சராக இருக்கிறேன். இன்றும் சிறந்த கல்லூரிகளின் வரிசையில் இக்கல்லூரியும் உள்ளது. இக்கல்லூரியின் கல்விப்பணி மேலும் சிறக்க வாழ்த்துகிறேன் என்றார். \nபின்னர் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் இருந்து வந்திருந்த முன்னாள் மாணவிகள் தங்களது குடும்பத்துடன் பங்கேற்று தங்கள் மலரும் நினைவுகளை வெளிப்படுத்தினர்.  தொடர்ந்து அவர்கள் தாங்கள் பயின்ற வகுப்பறை\, வளாகம் ஆகிய இடங்களுக்குச் சென்று குழுவாக புகைப்படம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டனர். தொடர்ந்து முன்னாள் மாணவிகளின் கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடைபெற்றன. விழாவில் முன்னாள் கல்லூரி முதல்வர்கள்\, பேராசிரியர்கள் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டனர். விழாவிற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை கல்லூரி கணிதத்துறைத் தலைவர் பழனி\, உதவி பேராசிரியர் ராதா\, வேதியல் துறைத் தலைவர் கோகிலா சுபத்ரா\, தமிழ்த்துறை உதவி பேராசிரியர் நீதா உள்ளிட்டோர் செய்திருந்தனர். \n  \nClick here to know more

Mahalaxmi College for Women\, Thoothukudi\n* Student Union Election *\n23.08.2023\n* Student Union Election – Canvassing *\n                  22.08.2023\nPrior to the Student Union Election \, the nominees carried out their canvassing on 22.08.2023 at 2:00 p.m. \n      \n* Inauguration of  Student Union *\n23.08.2023\n\n  \n     \nThe Election for the Students’s  Council for the academic year 2023–2024 was held at 2 pm at ICT Hall II at A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women\, Thoothukudi.\nDuring the first round of voting\, each candidate who had submitted a nomination was required to make a five-minute speech outlining their qualifications for the\npositions they had sought election to. For the positions of Chairman and Secretary\, a total of three students each submitted a candidature during the second round. The\nselected students were chosen from the list of nominees based on their overall academic and behavioral excellence\, as well as their athletic prowess. \nStudents then cast their ballots. The votes were counted immediately and the election result was announced at 3.00pm by the Principal Dr. K. Subbulakshmi\, A.P.C. Mahalaxmi\nCollege for Women\, Thoothukudi. Student Council Chairman was S. Sri Vidya Manya (III B.Com) and the Student Council Secretary K. Divya (III B.Sc.\,Chemistry) were elected. \nThe Student Council and the Department Association Inauguration was held on 23.08.2023 at 10.00 am. The welcome address was given by Dr. K. Subbulkshmi. The Chief Guest was Dr. C. Veerabahu\, Principal\, V.O.Chidambaram College\, Thoothukudi. In his speech\, he implored the students to develop a passion\, a sense of fascination\, a positive outlook\, and a spirit of\ncooperation that would direct their energies and lead to resolute action for the benefit of the school and society at large. He concluded by encouraging listeners to “Break the Safe Zone and Be Initiative for New.” Vote of thanks was proposed by student chairman S. Sri Vidya Manya (III B.Com). The program ended with the National Anthem. \n

SUMMARY:INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
DESCRIPTION:A.P.C. MAHALAXMI COLLEGE FOR WOMEN\, THOOTHUKUDI\nINTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE\n24.03.2023 \n\nThe International Web Conference in “Recent Advancements in Chemical Sciences and Intellectual Property rights          (RACSIPR ‘23) was organized by the PG and Research Department of Chemistry\, A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women.  \nThe main aim of this conference was to bring together leading academicians\, researchers and students to exchange and share their experiences and research outputs on all aspects of Chemical Sciences. It was also meant to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform to present and discuss the most recent innovations\, trends and concerns as well as practical\nchallenges encountered and solutions adopted in the field of Chemical Sciences. \n The conference preparations started with the call for abstracts; 88 abstracts were received out of which 75 were accepted. Selected research abstracts have been compiled and edited in the form of Conference Proceedings with ISBN and published by Shanlax Publishers. The conference maintained a high-quality peer-review process for all the abstracts submitted\, starting with a primary evaluation that included a plagiarism check for the original contents. Rejections at this stage had either serious scientific flaws\, very poor grammar or were outside the aim and scope of this Conference. Those that met the minimum criteria were passed on to experts in the domain for review. Single-blind review process was employed\, where the reviewer remained anonymous to the authors throughout the process. \n\nThis report captures the one-day program of keynote addresses\, technical sessions and presentations\, which took place 24th\nMarch 2023 virtually. The event brought together some 242 plus members of faculty\, research scholars\, students and key\nofficials nationally and internationally to discuss the recent advances in chemical sciences with focus on sustainability. It concluded with a set of presentations of real world cases describing new and noteworthy initiatives relevant to the conference theme. \n\nThe International conference started with an inaugural session with a welcome note and conference overview by Dr. H.Kohila Subathra Christy\, Head and Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This was followed by the presidential address by the respected Principal of the college\, Dr. P. Bala Shanmuga Devi. The grand release of the conference proceedings was carried out by Dr. P. Bala Shanmuga Devi\, Principal and the first copy was accepted by Dr. H. Kohila Subathra Christy\, Head of the Department. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. T. Arockiadoss\, Assistant Professor and Head i/c\, Deputy Coordinator\, Technology Support Centre\, Madurai Kamaraj University\, Madurai. \n\nThe technical sessions followed the inaugural session and the main keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. N.S.K. Gowthaman\, Post-Doctoral Researcher School of Engineering\, Monash University\, Malaysia. The conference comprised of three technical sessions\, some of them scheduled concurrently. The first session on “Innovation\, Invention and startup via IPR” was handled by Dr. T. Arockiadoss\, Assistant Professor and Head i/c\, Deputy Coordinator\, Technology Support Centre\, Madurai Kamaraj University\, Madurai. “Carbon Quantum Dots: An Economical Sustainable Opto Electrocatalyst in Sensing Applications” was the topic delivered by Dr. N.S.K. Gowthaman Post-Doctoral Researcher School of Engineering\, Monash University\, Malaysia. The final technical session was handled by Dr. P. Pon Sathieshkumar\, Senior Postdoctoral Researcher\, POSTECH\, South Korea on the topic “Supramolecular Approaches for the Advancements in Materials Chemistry”.  \nThe conference was structured to foster discussion between participants. The paper presentation session was chaired by Dr.Chandralekha\, Head and Assistant Professor of Chemistry\, Kamaraj College\, Thoothukudi. Faculties\, research\nscholars and students from the host institution and other institutions presented their research work enthusiastically. Best presenter awards were given to participants in four categories i.e\, Faculty\, research scholar\, PG students and UG students based on novelty\, presentation and response to questions. The best presenter awardees are Dr.S.Selvam\, Assistant Professor of Geology\, V.O.Chidambaram College\, Thoothukudi\, Ms.A.Dhivya\, Madras Christian College\, Chennai\, Ms.Ponselvi\, St.Mary’s College\, Ms.Supriya\, Kamaraj College\, Ms S. Aiswarya\, Ms.K. Arunachala Sidhiha\, Ms. S. Kanagalakshmi\, Ms.V. Petchiammal and Ms.M. Uma Maheswari\, A.P.C.Mahalaxmi College for Women\, Thoothukudi. \n\nThe one day virtual Conference ended with a valedictory session. The welcome speech in the session was delivered by Dr.P.Yokeswari Nithya\, Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This was followed by a valedictory address by Dr.Chandralekha\, Head and Assistant Professor of Chemistry\, Kamaraj College\, Thoothukudi. DESCRIPTION:A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women\, \nThoothukudi.\nHPCL Scholarship Awarding Ceremony \n23.03.2023 \n\nHPCL Scholarship Awarding Ceremony was held at A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women\, Thoothukudi on 23 rd March 2023 at 11.00 a.m. in the New Conference Hall. \nThe institution has been offering financial assistance to many economically backward students through the A.P.C. Mahalaxmi Ammal Memorial Scholarship Endowment\, funded by 96 faculty members of the college including former faculty as well\, to extend financial assistance to students on compassionate grounds. \nThe institution also takes initiatives to procure financial assistance from various sources to help students and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) as a part of CSR activity has awarded Merit Scholarship worth Rs.7\,12\,400 to 118 students. Thiru. A.P.C.V. Chockalingam\, President of the college\, the Secretary Mrs. Subbulakshmi Chockalingam and the Principal Dr. P. Bala Shanmuga Devi were instrumental in procuring the scholarship. \nDr. V. Shyamala Susan\, Head and Assistant Professor of Computer Science\, welcomed the gathering and Dr. P. Bala Shanmuga Devi the Principal extended felicitation. Mr. P.N.L. Mohan\, Senior Area Sales Manager\, Smt. S. Praveena\, SM Fuels\, and Smt. Hyma Stephen\, A.D.G. Agencies delivered special addresses. The Madurai Deputy General Manager of HPCL Mr. R. Sella Prabu was the chief guest and awarded the scholarships to the deserving students and addressed the students on the value of education and the importance of extending a helping hand to the aspirants. He added that HPCL always tries to do such yeoman service to the society. Shri. M. Paramasivam\, Shri. B.Keerthi\, Shri. V. Siva Kumar\, Shri. C. Prabhakaran and Shri. Ananth Geethan\, dealers of HPCL attended the programme and graced the occasion. A note of thanks was extended by the student beneficiaries. \nThe arrangements for the programme were made by the teaching and non-teaching faculty of the institution and the programme came to a closure with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. K. Chitra Chellam\, the Head of the Department of Commerce. The members of Criteria V of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the institution coordinated the program very effectively.
