Commemoration of J.K. Rowling’s Birthday – Movie Screening of Harry Potter – 31.07.2025

The P.G. and Research Department of English of A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women, Thoothukudi, organized a special movie screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on 31st July 2025, from 11.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at Mu. Varadharajan Hall.

This event was held in commemoration of J.K. Rowling’s birthday and the birth year of the iconic character Harry Potter. The programme aimed to offer students an immersive literary and cinematic experience, fostering an appreciation for fantasy literature and storytelling. The event welcomed students into the enchanting world of wizardry, celebrating the cultural impact of the Harry Potter series. Dr. K.S. Anushya, Assistant Professor of English and Staff In-charge of the English Literary Association, coordinated the programme, while Dr. Monica Ramraj, Head and Associate Professor of English, served as the convener. The screening was met with enthusiastic participation and created a memorable engagement with literature through film.
