The EXCEL Club was initiated with the aim of helping the students of different disciplines become excellent communicators in the English language. This club conducts classes for the students during the non working hours to train them in the four major language skills namely, listening, speaking, reading and writing, besides interview skills and soft skills. It also facilitates and guides the students to participate in the language proficiency tests conducted by Shakespeare Institute of English, Chennai every year. The club uses the English language lab with its multimedia facility supported by other audio visual and online resources to achieve its following objectives.
- Transforming the undergraduate students into employable graduates by equipping them with the essential English language proficiency.
- Providing adequate exposure to functional English to help the students tackle real life situations in which communication in English is inevitable.
- Imparting the necessary soft skills to the students to enhance their employability potential in the job market.
